Keeping pace with AI has become yet another expectation on an already demanding CMO agenda. Today's marketing leaders are juggling data, technology, creativity and digital transformation, while rapidly building the fluency to lead with AI. For many senior women, finding the time, headspace and trusted networks to experiment, ask questions and learn alongside peers isn't always easy.

At the same time, women remain underrepresented in technology and at the executive levels shaping its direction. As AI becomes part of everyday business, more women need to be part of the conversation. Not just about the technology, but influencing the culture, governance and customer experiences being built around it.

To support that ambition, we are launching a series of events and a dedicated community for senior women in marketing. Designed to move beyond hype and into practical leadership, the initiative will bring together peers to explore real-world applications of AI, exchange experiences and build the confidence to lead as AI-native CMOs.

Who's shaping the future of AI?

While AI adoption accelerates across industries, the gender gap remains stark – especially among those shaping its future. Women make up only 30% of the global AI workforce and hold fewer than 15% of senior executive roles in AI.

For many women CMOs, the challenge isn't ambition, it's capacity. Today's marketing leaders are expected to combine creativity, commercial acumen, data, technology and AI fluency, while many continue to shoulder a disproportionate share of responsibilities outside of work. Finding the time and space to experiment with new technologies isn't always straightforward.

Yet the real opportunity lies in influence. The leaders adopting AI today are defining how it's governed, where it's applied and the problems it's built to solve. Without diverse perspectives around the table, organizations risk embedding existing biases into the systems and decisions that will shape the future of business.

Diverse leadership leads to better outcomes. Better questions, broader perspectives and more thoughtful innovation. Ensuring more women help shape AI today will lead to technologies that better reflect the customers, employees and societies they ultimately serve.
