EPAM Systems, Empathy Lab’s parent company, has revealed the results of its study "From Hype to Impact: How Enterprises Can Unlock Real Business Value with AI", which examines the promises of AI versus the reality of its adoption in businesses.
The study surveyed 7,300 companies and categorized them on a scale of AI maturity, from “beginner” (14%) right up to “disruptor” (5%), with “proficient” (32%) and “advanced” (49%) stages in between. With the first key finding being that while nearly half of the companies consider themselves at the forefront of AI, only 26% have actually implemented real use cases.
The study identifies this operational rollout as the main challenge for companies, while stressing that integrating AI into processes requires governance and a strong tech culture that involves all employees. Hiring is a major concern, as respondents report facing a shortage of talent.
“AI pioneers will no longer just optimize productivity; they will reinvent the customer experience and drive growth across their entire value chain.”
