Our ideal candidate is a senior level individual with a minimum of three years experience independently leading internet application projects, working directly with clients, and a solid background in .NET development. Agency experience is a requirement.
Empathy Lab seeks a full-time, talented, Technology Manager to join our Philadelphia Area team of professionals. This individual will lead large scale application initiatives while guiding our team of developers to see through each project from planning to execution, including communicating with clients to gather requirements and provide status.
You must possess proven leadership abilities, a strong understanding of web development principles, and the ability to develop simple solutions to complex problems. You’ll need top-notch communication (oral and written) skills for collaborating with clients and our team. You must be able to represent our company with professionalism and integrity whenever you interact with our clients
Of course, you’ll need to be highly proficient in ASP.NET, C#, SQL, design patterns and have an extensive HTML background. It is also desired that you have experience with enterprise level CMS and e-commerce packages.
Position Responsibilities:
- Able to quickly gain a thorough understanding of our clients' industries and objectives
- Estimate projects based on high level architecture you develop
- Manage team workload, project deadlines and staff the team appropriately
- Be proactive in seeking information, clarification and product knowledge
- Collaborate with the internal team to provide recommendations for in-scope applications and packages
- Participate in the development of coding standards and methodologies
- Work independently and efficiently to meet agreed-upon deadlines
- Brainstorm with team members and think on the fly
- Represent our company with professionalism and integrity whenever you interact with our clients
- Continually further your experience with current technologies and practices
- Mentor and instruct junior team members on proper coding techniques
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree
- 3+ years experience building internet applications, with a solid background in web architecture
- 2+ years experience planning/estimating projects and managing teams.
- 3+ years agency experience
- Strong understanding of web development principles, and the ability to develop simple solutions to complex problems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with team members and possess efficient problem solving skills
- Ability to participate in our development efforts when appropriate, experience with .net or JAVA application development.
- Experience with enterprise scale CMS, ecommerce or community platforms
- Strong project management skills
