Mobile Development Architect / Manager

We are currently seeking a Mobile Development Architect / Manager to join our Philadelphia area team of professionals.

Our ideal candidate is responsible for leading the building of mobile and tablet based applications. This person will participate in the process from sales through execution, including architecting the appropriate solution with the team and distributing work to the appropriate team members. You should have significant experience building applications for iOS or Android and must provide live examples and code with your submission. Additionally, you should be very comfortable working directly with clients and skilled at explaining complex concepts in digestible terms.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Participate in selling and scoping initiatives
  • Participate in planning the growth of Empathy Lab’s mobile practice
  • Lead a team of developers to complete proposed initiatives, contributing application architecture and implementation guidance
  • Able to quickly gain an understanding of our clients’ requirements, technology needs and develop solutions
  • Be proactive in seeking information, clarification and project knowledge from other team members
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop appropriate solutions
  • Work independently and efficiently to meet agreed-upon deadlines
  • Brainstorm with team members and think on the fly
  • Provide business development support by laying out the requirements for a proposed solution
  • Represent our company with professionalism and integrity whenever you interact with our clients
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in developing mobile apps (both web and native) – Must supply live examples
  • Strong background in mobile design patterns, HTML and Javascript
  • Experience developing with iPhone SDK, Cocoa, Interface Builder, Objective-C and Xcode OR Eclipse, Java and Android Libraries
  • Experience with test driven development, continuous integrations, and automated deployments
  • Familiarity with using Web APIs
  • Experience working in a collaborative environment using SCM software such as SVN and JIRA
  • Familiarity with cross platform mobile development techniques is a plus
  • Experience with mobile video or commerce is highly desired
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with team members and possess efficient problem solving skills
  • Ability to approach and communicate with a wide range of personalities
  • Self-starter with strong self-management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and desire for quality
