HTML Developer

The Front End Developer is responsible for developing and coding for Empathy Lab’s clients needs.

Position Responsibilities:

• Hand code HTML/DHTML/XHTML/CSS pages
• Object oriented Javascript/AJAX development (Either JQuery or Prototype)
• Understand technical and functional design requirements
• Create prototypes for client engagements
• Work with design team and Project Managers to build and refine graphic designs for websites
• Convert raw images and layouts from a graphic designer into CSS/HTML/XHTML pages
• Alert colleagues to emerging technologies or applications and the opportunities to integrate them into operations and activities

Essential Skills and Experience:

• BS in computer science or a related field, or significant equivalent experience
• 3+ years experience with HTML/XHTML, JavaScript, and CSS
• 2+ years Web programming experience, including PHP, ASP.Net or JSP desired
• Experience creating 508 compliant sites is desired
• Proficient in developing AJAX functionality
• Must have strong skills in Photoshop, Fireworks, or equivalent application(s)
• Strong attention to detail and desire for quality
• Development experience using extensible web authoring tools
• Self-starter with strong self-management skills
• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
